Terms of Service

Last updated 4 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you (the business or person using TiinyPay, "you") and TiinyPay ("TiinyPay", "we"). By creating an account or using our API you accept them. If you accept on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

1. What TiinyPay does

TiinyPay lets you collect payments from mobile money accounts, send payouts to mobile money accounts, and keep balances in wallets, including sub-wallets you create for your own customers. Mobile money transactions are carried out through our licensed payment partner(s) and the mobile network operators. We are not a bank, and wallet balances do not earn interest.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18, give accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for everything done with your account and API keys, including by team members you invite. Keep your password, authenticator device, recovery codes and API keys secret, and tell us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect misuse.

3. Sandbox and live mode

Sandbox (test) mode uses simulated money only. Nothing in the sandbox creates a real obligation. Live mode moves real money and is available only after we approve your verification.

4. Verification and limits

To use live mode you must complete our verification, which may include identity documents, business registration documents, phone number confirmation and a live video check of each relevant person. We may refuse, suspend or withdraw approval at our discretion and may ask for more information at any time. Each account has payout limits (for example, a weekly limit based on account type). We may change limits, and you may ask us to review them.

5. Payments, fees and holds

6. Sub-wallets and your customers

Sub-wallets you create belong to your account. You are responsible for your relationship with your own customers, including telling them how their balances work, handling their complaints and meeting any legal duties that apply to your service. You must not present TiinyPay as the provider of your service to them.

7. What you must not do

You must not use TiinyPay for anything illegal, including money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, gambling without a licence, sale of illegal goods or services, pyramid or Ponzi schemes, or to evade sanctions. You must not attempt to access accounts or data that aren’t yours, test our security without written permission, interfere with the service, or use it through tools designed to hide your identity or location.

8. API and security

Use API keys only from your own servers, restrict payout keys to your server IP addresses, verify webhook signatures, and protect your systems. We may rotate or revoke keys that appear compromised.

9. Suspension and closing your account

We may suspend or close your account, or stop live access, if you breach these terms, if required by law or our partners, or to protect you, your customers or us. You may close your account at any time once your balances are paid out and no transactions are pending. Funds lawfully owed to you will be paid out to a verified account in your name, subject to any legal holds.

10. Records and compliance

We keep records and may report transactions as the law requires, including under Uganda’s Anti-Money Laundering Act and National Payment Systems Act. We cooperate with lawful requests from regulators and law enforcement.

11. Liability

We provide TiinyPay with reasonable care and skill, but we do not guarantee it will always be available or error-free, and we are not responsible for failures of mobile networks or partners outside our control. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid us in that period. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. We’ll tell you about material changes by email or in the dashboard at least 14 days before they apply, unless a change is required sooner by law. Continuing to use TiinyPay after that means you accept the changes.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda. We’ll try to resolve any dispute with you in good faith first. Unresolved disputes go to the courts of Uganda.
